Birth Stories
Margareta's Story

We were lucky enough to have Rachel’s support for the birth of both of our daughters.
I can honestly say, without her support I would have had very different experiences for both of my births.
Birth experiences stay with us for life, so you want to make sure you invest in the preparation of the process as well as choosing your delivery team right!

First time around I had a long, difficult birth, with a far from ideal presentation of my baby (which we weren’t aware of). Rachel was right there when I needed support, she just knew without words what I needed and encouraged me all along the way.

Moreover, my husband was able get quick breaks, knowing that I was in good hands with Rachel. I did apply the hypnobirthing principles Rachel thought me through the birth. When it got too much, she helped me to re-centre my focus again. She was making sure my wishes were respected and I was getting enough time to make decisions I was comfortable with. It really felt like an excellent team work in such a challenging situation.
In the end I was able to deliver naturally! It felt like a true victory!
Second time around we had a very quick and straightforward birth, yet due to the rapidly increasing surges, I needed to get to the hospital quickly. Rachel heard me over the phone, and made the call to meet us in the hospital (instead of coming to our home first , as she knew I was in full blown labour and soon the baby will arrive). She was right! Meeting her at the hospital door was such a relief, I knew I was in good hands, I didn’t need to think, she ushered me through everything, massaged me whilst we were waiting to be seen. I had an incredible experience and everything just happened the way I imagined.

Two very different stories, yet Rachel was our constant in both. I can’t recommend her enough! Her gentle support and her deep belief in the power of female bodies is invaluable. Do not hesitate to pick up the phone and give her a call! You won’t regret it!

Thank you Rachel!

Molly's Story
Where do I start about Rachel…
I want to make a huge shout out because she made the delivery of my beautiful baby girl…
the most amazing experience

I started my one to one hypnobirthing journey with my partner and Rachel in August and my little girl was born in the October. She weighed 7lb 14oz. It took 8 hours from when my waters broke to her being born and only 22 minutes to push her out. I’m 22 years old and my only pain relief was gas and air.

I preferred the idea of one to one antenatal classes, so it was more personal. I could ask as many questions as I liked and my partner felt he could do the same. If you want a relaxed birth and your partner to step up and help handle you and the labour, then Rachel’s your girl.

My partner had no idea about what would happen during labour; when to leave for the hospital or what to expect in my behaviour and how to help settle me. But after our four classes he was confident (as was I) and he was incredible in the room.

Rachel was so friendly, caring and informative which is what you need in your pregnant state because it’s natural to be nervous. She has so much knowledge and presents her Wise Hippo Programme extremely well. It’s clear, interactive and there are videos too.

You get a portal to access MP3’s of relaxing music and some scripted tracks too which I used constantly on the build up to labour as well as on the day.

Rachel was flexible with when my partner and I as we both worked full time, but we managed to fit the classes in comfortably. We loved that we could do it at home so I was comfortable and Rachel made sure that was the case anyway.

Please if you want to enjoy the labour of your little one and know what options you have in your birth plan that you could refuse or chose to have, then book a meet up with Rachel because you won’t regret it. Her value for money and what you get out of it, is incredible
All that’s left to say is THANK YOU RACHEL and I’ll be seeing you for a recap for my next one.

Marta's Story
Rachel said to me before we started: “When we're finished, you'll be looking forward to giving birth"
- I did NOT believe her.

I believed labour and birth were a necessary pain and sacrifice to get my child into the world.

Instead, I got this relaxing, magical experience of helping my little one into the world, one surge at the time, always one step closer to holding her in my arms.

The discomforts of my body getting ready to help her out were soothed by the positivity of birth affirmations and other hypnobirthing techniques. I had this huge smile on my face as I was giving birth to my little one and all that positivity and relaxation that got me through, stayed with me and saw me through every post-partum challenge.

It turns out Rachel was right – labour and birth are magical experiences that we can (somewhat) control and be part of in such an amazing way. It’s not about the pain, it’s about perspective – thank you Rachel for helping to change mine.

E & A's Story
The minute Rachel came through the front door with her warm hug and hi...
…we knew she was who we wanted, for our try at a natural delivery after 2 cesareans.

I loved every min of the hypnobirthing course… Rachel taught it in such a clear & exciting way. I spoke to her a couple times after Dr visits for advice, and she was always reassuring me.

When I went into labour Rachel came at the perfect time, and helped me stay calm, relaxed and in control… My birth was amazing and beautiful, and we are forever grateful to you!!

I & M's Story
During my labour at the hospital I was fortunate enough to have lovely and kind midwives.

The problem is, nowadays, a big chunk of their task is spent writing, keeping a protocol of what is happening during birth. Not to mention that every midwife is preoccupied with several women in labour at the same time so they keep on rushing in and out of the room.

This is where Rachel comes in. I absolutely wouldn’t have been able to have the birth I had without her. It was quite a long one but due to her presence I was able to persevere and use only gas & air and hypnobirthing breathing techniques as my ‘pain killers’. It was a truly transformative experience, in a positive sense of the word.

I thought giving birth is something I’ll certainly be able to manage on my own (as many women did throughout history). But in the past, women were usually supported by other women (their mothers, aunts, neighbours, friends). So Rachel is there to do exactly that; to support, calm you down and make you feel that you can absolutely do it.

I should also point out that I have one of the most supportive partners. No really I do. But even then, I felt that Rachel’s role was absolutely vital because she was looking after him too. If my partner was well supported then he was able to support me more effectively.

I can’t recommend taking a doula enough and Rachel is simply incredibly at what she does.
My partner and I are forever grateful to her for helping us to deliver our precious little boy into this world.
